Bruce County is set to honour Emergency Preparedness Week May 7th to 13th.
It is a chance for residents and visitors to be prepared to take care of themselves and their families for a minimum of 72 hours.
In the event an emergency happens, it may take emergency workers some time to reach them, so get prepared ahead of time to face a range of emergencies anytime and anywhere.
This includes knowing the risks including severe weather, floods and power outages, making a plan including where to meet or how to contact one another, and get an emergency kit which includes basic items like food & water and a battery-operated or crank flashlight.
