Bruce County announced today that scientists contracted by the Nuclear Waste Management Organization will be conducting biodiversity field studies on various sections of County Land from August 18th until December 30th.
The sites are located on Concession 15, 13, 1 and 2 in Culross Township, within the study area for the organization’s South Bruce deep geological repository site.
Scientists will be collecting data for aquatic & terrestrial ecosystems, attributes, species abundance and distribution, and potential habitats for local species of interest.
The County advises if anyone who lives within this area is interested in allowing scientists onto their property to collect data, they can contact sbenvironmental@nwmo.ca or by calling 416-419-0810.
