The Bruce County Library is now offering one Seed Library in each of its municipalities in Bruce County.
They offer access to seeds free of charge to anyone interested in growing.
By cultivating a collection of seeds locally adapted to the region the seed libraries can help preserve local Bruce County strains of plans and provide seeds more resilient to weather, soil nutrition and local pests.
There will be available in:
- Chesley
- Kincardine
- Lucknow
- Southampton
- Teeswater
- Tobermory
- Walkerton
- Wiarton
There is also a hydroponic unit coming to Teeswater shortly.
It will allow visitors to drop by to grab a pre-cut bunch of herbs from staff.
