Bruce County Museum adds Resources for Treaties Recognition Week

Included in resources is recorded presentation from Trish Meekins, a knowledge keeper for Saugeen Ojibway Nation who spoke on the importance of treaties, especially lands within what is now Bruce County.

With this week being Treaties Recognition week, the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre has prepared new related educational resources online for educators and the public.

Included in the resources is a recorded presentation from the Museum’s November 3rd event with Trish Meekins, a knowledge keeper for Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

It focused on the importance of treaties in Canada, especially history that relates to the lands within what is now Bruce County.

Other learning resources include downloadable activities & videos designed to deepen children’s understanding of treaties.
