The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre announced the completion of its expansive Newspaper Digitization Project, which saw over 12 thousand newspapers from 25 different Bruce County titles now available for viewing online.

The archive ranges from 1861 to 1930 and  Archivist Deb Sturdevant says that historic newspapers recorded the social, political, personal and economic events that influenced the development of the communities.

The project is said to open new doors for researchers and anyone in private study, who can now search the content by title and location across local municipalities.

It is available online at newspapers.brucemuseum.ca
