The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is preparing to welcome a new exhibit entitled “This Must be the Place” by artist Heather Lynne Travis on Saturday, September 16th.

The Exhibit Opening Event is set for 2 to 4pm with welcoming & opening remarks at 2:30 pm.

The exhibit uses bold colours, big scale & creative storytelling to invite new conversations around childless heroes; including pop culture icons like Dolly Parton, Ina Garten, Missy Eliott and others all in effort to facilitate positive discourse on a sometimes-taboo topic.

Drawing inspirations from her own life and desire to write new fairytale endings, Heather’s work reframes patriarchal definitions of “family” by celebrating the diverse stories of women without children & infertility, while creating a happy place for positive new narratives to thrive.

The Exhibit Opening is free to attend with a cash bar & light refreshments. You can RSVP online.
