The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre announced two new exhibits opening this month.

The first open now is entitled Re:Collections explores fibre as an art form. The exhibit embraces cloth, thread, paper and mixed media. The exhibit is a collaboration between the Connections Fibre Artists group and the Wellington County Museum and Archives whose artists selected artefacts from within their collection which served as inspiration for pieces in the show.

Re:Collections is also the first virtual exhibit from the Museum 2022 and the second one produced b the Museum.

The second exhibit is entitled Hope & Healing. It opens February 14th and is by artist Tracey-Mae Chambers. She will be creating a temporary art installation at the Museum using a single, continuous piece of red string. It is meant to represent love, and courage, but also passion, anger, Indigenous slurs, danger and power. Visitors will be able to watch her work throughout the day on the 14th as she creates the piece. Time-lapse video and photos will remain after the string is returned for her next installation.

Tracey-Mae will deliver an Artist Talk about her work on February 14th from 7 until 8pm. The talk is open to the public and will be live streamed.
