Bruce Power and partner Nordion have announced that with being one of the largest suppliers of cobalt-60, the two are working to increase production of the medical isotope to meet the increasing demands of the world market.

The companies are able to achieve the feat by innovating a new adjuster component configuration.

An increase supply is good news for the medical community as Ontario produces 50 percent of the global supply of the medical isotope, which helps to sterilize billions of medical devices like gloves, masks & syringes, while also treating some forms of cancer.
