Bruce County Offering Tips of Being Prepared for Tornados

Bruce County is urging residents to take some steps to be prepared in the event of a tornado in the area.

Every year around 50 tornadoes hit across the country and aside from the United States see the most tornadoes than any other country.

Bruce County has been one area which experiences tornado watches as recently as this summer and the Bruce County Emergency Management Program is asking residents to be aware of risks and know what to do when watches or warnings are issued.

Tips provided include to get into a basement or small interior room on the main floor of a home such as a bathroom, if inside a vehicle find shelter in a building with a strong foundation or get out of the vehicle and crouch down in a ditch.
