Bruce County has launched a $100,000 pilot program offering up to $50,000 to homeowners who want to build an affordable Additional Residential Unit on their property.

The new program is aimed to create more affordable residential units across Bruce County.

The initiative is designed to address the growing need for more affordable rentals as part of the County’s initiative to “Build in Bruce” and is one of the actions identified in the recently released Housing Action Plan.

Homeowners who own a single detached property in Bruce County will be eligible to apply for the funding with the newly constructed unit must be rented at an affordable rate for 15 years.

Applications are due by October 11th.
