The Bruce County Public Library is joining 200 other libraries across the country in going fine free.
As of June 1st the Bruce County Public Library is eliminating overdue fines for Library materials.
The change is aimed to enhance equal access to the library’s extensive resources and services.
Library Board Chair Mark Goetz says the library is committed to being a welcoming environment where everyone in the community has access to the resources they need.
As part of the new policy all outstanding fines on accounts are being forgiven to allow everyone to fully utilize the new initiative.
Fees for lost, damaged or inter-library loans will stay in place.
