Member of Parliament for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Alex Ruff issued a statement today on the passing of longtime Member of Provincial Parliament for the Region Bill Murdoch yesterday.

In the statement, Ruff says he and Murdoch had known each other for decades but added that they became much better acquainted over the last few years.

Ruff says he called Murdoch first when he decided to enter politics in 2019.

“Without a doubt, Bill was the mold used for creating politicians that represent the people that elected them, first and foremost. Bill’s reputation for speaking his mind, and fighting for the little guy was known throughout the province and I dare say country.”

Ruff visited Murdoch last month during his time in Hospice care to award him the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Coin in recognition for his service to the community.
