Bruce Power Finishes Steam Generator Replacement on Unit 6 Reactor

Each Generator weighs 320,000 pounds and will Produce Decades of Clean Energy

Bruce Power announced today that the installation of the final steam generator has been completed on the Unit 6 Reactor as part of their major component replacement.

The key milestone means there are now eight steam generators which will provide decades of reliable, clean operation providing power to Ontario homes and businesses.

The generators were made by BWXT in Cambridge and even though each generators weighs 320,000 pounds they were installed within a few millimeters tolerance by a 16 hundred ton capacity crane.

Next up for replacement are the Generators for Units 2 & 3.
