Bruce Power announced its Unit 3 marks its 45th year of commercial operation on February 1st.
It also marks one month to the beginning of the Unit’s Major Component Replacement outage, with final preparations to bring it offline on March 1st.
The replacement of major components of Unit 3 is the next step in Bruce Power’s Life-Extension program, one of the largest private-clean-energy projects in Canada.
Unit 6 at the site looks to return to service later this year.
The extension program will see Units 3 to 8 extended through 2064 and beyond.
