Bruce Power, Saugeen Ojibway Nation, Isogen and ITM have launched an advanced initiative to double capacity of the Isotope Production System to produce cancer fighting medical isotopes on Bruce Power’s Unit 7.
The program timeline is on pace to deliver commissioning of the IPS upgrades later this year.
Premier Doug Ford was in attendance on May 27th for the expansion announcement at the University Health Networks Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
With installation of the production line complete, commissioning activities will start prior to the new production line entering commercial service later this year.
