Bruce Power’s Unit 6 has been re-connected to Ontario’s electricity grid following its Major Component Replacement outage.

The MCR began in January of 2020 and was completed ahead of schedule and on-budget despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic thanks to the efforts of Bruce Power employees, industry partners and skilled tradespeople.

Unit 6 is the first to be returned to service as part of the Life-Extension Program which will see Units 3 to 8 refurbished over the next decade to extend their operations to 2064 and beyond.

Bruce Power provides between $9 and $12 billion in direct and indirect economic activity in Canada from its operations and its Life-Extension Program.
