The public and private partnership attempting to bring Cedar Crescent Village to the waterfront in Saugeen Shores is facing a bit of opposition from a group of local residents calling themselves the Port Elgin Beach Preservers.

The group describes themself as Residents, Cottage Owners and Visitors who want to see the revitalization done with care and alerting that the Main Beach is about to undergo a big change.

The group has shared the revised concept drawings of the proposed development via a Facebook group with the various technical facts about the building height and features highlighted.

The Cedar Crescent Village development has been in the works since 2019. Recent developments have seen the plans scaled back and the proposed development moved 30 meters further back from the water.

The target date for opening of the project is now estimated at August of 2023.
