The Chesley Hospital Emergency Department will close this entire weekend, and reopen next week with reduced hours moving forward, due to a critical shortage of nurses.

The ED closes tonight at 5 p.m. and will reopen Monday, Sept 12 at 7 a.m.

Beginning next week, the emergency department will be closed overnight, every night, from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. for an indefinite period.

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says this is a temporary measure, and they regret that this step must be taken.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department. For non-urgent health care needs, Health Connect Ontario is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions by calling 811.
