The South Bruce Grey Health Centre has announced that due to a critical shortage of nurses it will be enacting a full closure of the Chesley Emergency Department for 4 days.
The closure starts at 5pm this Thursday, September 22nd and lasts until 7 am the following Tuesday, September 27th.
The extended overnight closures at the Chesley ED will continue past the 27th.
The SBGHC says that all efforts to find staffing for the department have been undertaken without success.
Ambulance by-pass will be undertaken during the closure to divert patents to the nearest open Emergency Department.
