Volunteers are being sought to help rebuild the Goderich Track.
GDCI’s Track is deteriorating and at risk of being torn up and replaced with a dirt track and while the track and adjacent facilities have served the community well, it is time for upgrades.
A project to rebuild the track, improve the beach volleyball and basketball courts will allow a safer facilities, more opportunities for students and athletes and create a space for the entire community.
Doug Cruickshank, Committee Member for the rebuild committee says its a lofty goal to get it done but they are well on their way.
“$500,000 to get this property redone up and make it a serviceable, marketable property. We have some commitments that are bringing us close to the halfway mark right now but we need to take the next step and hammer it home that we gotta have this.” said Cruickshank.
A meeting will be held on Thursday at the GDCI Library for those to get more information and join the committee.
