The Board and Members of the Allenford Curling Club learned recently that the Club was on the receiving end of a year long $26,400 Community Building Fund Grant.

On Wednesday MPP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Bill Walker and Val Fleming, a volunteer with the Ontario Trillium Foundation met with members of the Club to formally congratulate them and hear of the plans for the club.

The funds will be used by the club to purchase sanitizing equipment, plexiglass barriers for the bar and kitchen areas, create new signage and modify procedures to allow the safe reopening of the Club.

Some of the funding will also be used to cover some fixed operating expenses until the club can rebuild it’s membership to Pre-Pandemic levels and on equipment to allow the safe installation and maintenance of ice surfaces.
