Breakfast With the Regulators went down last Friday at the Teeswater Town Hall which kicked off the Teeswater Fair.

During the complimentary breakfast officials with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and Impact Assessment Agency of Canada spoke on a series of topics, should South Bruce decided they are a willing host for the NWMO Project.

South Bruce Mayor Mark Goetz says these two groups will be key for the area should the referendum vote be in favour.

“The Impact Assessment Agency will then take a look at the impacts the project will have on the local community, both positive and negative… the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission their role will be to oversee the project for the length of the project and beyond after the mineshaft is closed up and the monitoring process is complete. They will be involved for the full 138 years.” said Goetz
