Results are in from the election held in Saugeen First Nation on Friday and Conrad Ritchie will be the new chief.
Previously the head councillor, Ritchie received 166 of the 466 ballots cast for chief.
Nine members of council were also elected through 458 votes.
Current chief Lester Anoquot didn’t seek reelection for the position, but did get voted in as a councillor.
Other newcomers to council include Rory Henry, Richelle M.A. Ritchie, Audra Root and Theresa Root. Lorne Mandawoub, Letitia Thompson and Melissa Snowden retained their seats.
The new council will take over next month.
