A crash between a truck and horse and buggy in Kincardine has OPP reminding drivers to slow down and be aware of other road users such as horses, tractors and bicycles.

On August 8th just before 10am, South Bruce OPP responded to the crash on King Street.

It was determined two horses were being riden by their owners heading northbound on King Street when one horse was spooked by nearby construction and the horse ran into traffic and was hit by a southbound vehicle.

The rider of the horse was taken to hospital with serious injuries but not deemed life threatening or life altering.

The road was closed for several hours as investigators assessed the crash.
