Hanover council has given the green light to proceed with a new police station in Hanover.

On July 15th council supported a three year levy increase phase in which will begin in 2025 to meet the long term loan repayment funding obligations for a future police station.

The new police station will be the 10th Avenue site of the soon to be former Hanover Firehall.

Mayor Sue Paterson says this direction is linked to the towns 2023-2027 Strategic Plan which includes safe and reliable infrastructure as a priority and details the importance of building, maintaining and improving municipally owned buildings.
