Saugeen Shores Councillor Kristan Shrider is taking a new role with the Town.

She was hired to be the new Director of Community Services and Operations.

Shrider formally resigned her seat on Council over the weekend and says her experience was something she will take with her into her new job.

Shrider says this was something she was interested in.

She had previously worked for the Town in operations, parks, and facilities between 2001 and 2015.

Shrider worked with the City of Owen Sound prior to being elected as Councillor in the Port Elgin Ward in 2018.

She takes over for Jayne Jagelewski who accepted a similar role with the Municipality of Kincardine in October.

Shrider’s first day in her new job is February 14th.

At Monday’s Council meeting, Council declared her seat vacant and is expected to be filled by appointment.
