Huron County is looking into the idea of dispersed supporting housing options.

The “scattered-site” model would see smaller number of units dispersed across multiple buildings in communities across the county.

Warden Glen McNeil hopes this approach will allow them to get closer to their goal of more attainable housing.

McNeil says they are looking at different communities that can accommodate four to five individuals in one housing unit.

He says this method would be much quicker than having to construct a building to accommodate a large number of people looking for a place to stay.
