Covid-19 Outbreak declared at Inpatient Unit of Seaforth Hospital

Those visiting the hospital are required to follow any posted instructions and are asked to limit their interaction to one patient per visit.

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance has declared an outbreak of Covid-19 on the Inpatient Unit of the Seaforth Community Hospital.

The status is declared after two or more confirmed cases are diagnosed among patients or staff that could have possibly been acquired at the hospital.

The unit is now closed to admissions until further notice.

HPHA is working in collaboration with Public Health and patients, family & caregivers as well as team members affected and are in the process of notifying all involved.

Testing of inpatients is taking place.

Those visiting the hospital are required to follow any posted instructions and are asked to limit their interaction to one patient per visit.

Patients may only have one family caregiver/visitor per day with no in-and-out privileges.  All caregivers and visitors are required to wear a mask.

Those visiting infected patients will be required to wear PPE including mask, eye protection, gown and gloves.
