Downtown Dig has begun in Downtown Kincardine

The Municipality of Kincardine says its Open for Business during the just launched Downtown Dig. Construction equipment is on-scene and ground-breaking has begun at the intersection of Harbour and Queen Street in Downtown Kincardine.

Sidewalks remain open with businesses innovating new ways to make visiting even more exciting.

Opening of alternate rear entries and lots of signage will help direct traffic, both vehicles and pedestrians, to local businesses.

The Downtown Dig Passport has made its debut. Customers can collect a stamp with every purchase made downtown, dining, shopping or using a service, for a chance to win BIA bucks.

Traffic changes are also in place to help calm traffic flows and make access to parking easier. They include:

  • new four way stop at Broadway Street and Huron Terrace
  • new four way stop at Harbour Street and Huron Terrace.
  • Harbour Street One Way Directional change – traffic now moves west to east with an exit via the north parking lot onto Lambton Street
  • Roadside south-facing parking permitted on both sides of Queen Street from Lambton to Harbour
