Dragons’ Den inspired Hawks’ Nest Entrepreneur Competition set to Make Return

Saugeen Economic Development announced today it is partnering again with Bruce Community Futures to deliver the Hawks’ Nest, a Dragons’ Den inspired competition where entrepreneurs from various sectors pitch their business ideas in an attempt to secure financial support from local “Hawk” investors.

As part of preparations for submitting applications to the competition, entrepreneurs can attend free virtual business plan training sessions coming up soon.

Sessions are:

  • January 10th, 9 am until 4 pm
  • January 18th, 9 am until 4 pm
  • January 21st, 9 am until 4 pm.
    Youth Only Session
  • January 14th, 1 until 4 pm.

Once plans are completed and submitted a review of each will be conducted.

Those chosen will get pitch training to prepare for a presentation to the Hawks set for May 17th at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound.

The competition is open to residents of Grey, Bruce, Minto, Owen Sound and Wellington North areas.

Six regional entrepreneurs and 1 youth from the coverage area will have a chance to gain an investment from the Hawks, with each committing a minimum $5,000 in value.

The deadline for submissions to the Hawks’ Nest is March 10, 2023.
