Driver Charged with Impaired & Taking Vehicle Without Consent in Central Huron

Huron County OPP have charged a driver with three criminal charges after stopping a Kitchener driver on Black’s Point Road in Central Huron this past weekend.

On Sunday at approximately 3:22am officers investigated a call of a possible impaired driver that was heading from Goderich to Clinton. They then received a second call that the same vehicle was stuck in a ditch near Black’s Point Road.

As a result of an investigation the driver was placed under arrest and taken to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests.

It was also discovered that the driver had taken the involved vehicle with consent from it’s owner.

A 19 year old of Kitchener has been charged with impaired operation,  blood alcohol 80 plus and taking a vehicle without consent.

They are set to appear in a Goderich Court on March 14th to answer to the charges.
