Duncan and Lesley Hawthrone of the United Kingdom have pledged their support to the Kincardine Hospital with a $1 million donation.
The donation made during Canada Day at Macpherson Park.
Duncan, a former president and CEO of Bruce Power returned to the United Kingdom in 2016 with his wife but still make a trip to Kincardine every year.
The donation builds on the “Building Health Care for Generations” campaign to raise $18 million to support the expansion and renovations at the Kincardine Hospital.
To honour the Hawthorne’s the South Bruce Grey Health Centre will be naming the emergency department after them.
