On Friday, Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Rick Byers met with staff at Elephant Thoughts Educational Outreach in Durham to hear directly about the impact of two grants, totally $528,000 have had over the last three years.

The greats enabled them to continue engaging & carry forward the cultural heritage learning opportunities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth; and the grants supported capacity building initiatives for the organization following the pandemic.

Elephant Thoughts is committed to supporting diverse communities and under-represented populations at their Riverstone Campus, a 136-acre historical farmstead about 5 minutes from Durham. It boasts diverse forests, hiking trails, agricultural lands and several indoor & outdoor facilities for events, overnight accommodations, retreats and educational experiences.

It provides a safe environment for youth that celebrates diversity and creates accessible learning opportunities for skills building, leadership development, connection to nature and healthy lifestyles.
