An Environmental Conservation Organization in Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh is hoping to raise community support for an area in their community that could soon be home to a gravel pit if a zoning change for the land it would be situated on is approved.

The area in question is the Little Lakes Road area which is also home to the historic Ball’s Bridge.

Jennifer Morris with the group Save Historic Ball’s Bridge & Little Lakes Road says they just like everyone to visit the area.

“What we’d love everyone to do is just encourage people in the community just to come out, see the area, experience the area for themselves.  Spend some time at the bridge and spend some time walking up and down Little Lakes Road. Go look at the Little Lakes. Look at the pristine nature of them.”

The decision on whether to approve the zoning change of the subject property that would house the gravel pit is set for Tuesday, June 21st at 9 am at the ACW Council Chambers at 82133 Council Line.
