The Leader of the Federal New Democratic Party took time to discuss the healthcare crisis for young people underway right now all across Canada.
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says its time for the Prime Minister to sit down and meet with Premier’s across the Province and come up with solutions.
Solutions discussed by Singh include allowing those trained in healthcare from around the world be allowed to work in their field.
“We need to make sure if anyone in this country has international training in healthcare they are able to work in that field. We can’t afford for them not to work. People trained in their fields need to be able to work in their fields.”
Other issues discussed include increased recruitment & training for frontline workers, and good pay for healthcare workers.
Singh mentioned that in meeting with Alberta Healthcare workers he heard stories of trailers setup the children’s hospitals there to meet up with the excess demand.
In Ottawa he says the Red Cross has been called in to meet up with demand.
