There has been a flood at the Elgin Lodge.
On March 20th Elgin Lodge Retirement Living experienced a significant flood which has impacted essential services in the building.
The flood has hit heating systems, the phone lines, internet, cable services and the shutdown of the water and natural gas supply.
In response, Elgin Lodge began evacuation procedures to ensure the safety and well being of residents who were all relocated to the Port Elgin United Church and later taken to hotels in town and supported by wellness staff.
Crews are currently working to assess damage and restore services as quickly as possible.
