The Grey Bruce Health Unit says flu season has arrived earlier than usual this year.
Their laboratory confirmed the first case of Influenza A in a Bruce County resident this week.
The Health Unit says the virus usually doesn’t appear for another few months. The first confirmed case in 2018 was discovered on Nov. 18, while the first case in 2019 came on Nov. 20.
They say there are also indications that seasonal influenza and COVID-19 will co-circulate this fall and winter.
The Health Unit recommends everyone who is eligible get their annual flu shot as soon as it becomes available this fall.
