It might not come in as a shock but Huron-Bruce is staying blue.

Lisa Thompson has been re-elected as MPP for the riding for the Conservative Party.

The election campaign comes to a close with Thompson holding onto the riding for the party.

This adds onto Premier Doug Fords majority government win.

“Donald Trump doesn’t know what we know, he is underestimating us, he is underestimating the resilience of the Canadian people, the Canadian spirit. Make no mistake. Canada won’t start a fight with the U.S but you better believe we are ready to win one.” said Ford.

According to numbers from the Toronto Star, Thompson secured Huron-Bruce with 50 per cent of the votes at 24,461 followed by Ian Burbidge of the Liberal Party at 28 per cent or 13,703 votes and Nick McGregor of the NDP at 11.8 per cent or 5749 votes.
