The Municipality of Bluewater is mourning the loss of former mayor Bill Dowson, who passed away last week.
Dowson was the first mayor of the municipality following the amalgamation of the Hay and Stanley Townships in 2001. The Varna native worked in municipal politics for over 30 years, leaving the mayor’s office in 2014.
He passed away at age 85 on Nov. 9.
