Retired Family Physician in Area Working to Raise Donations for Medical Supplies Donation to the Ukraine

Couple is aiming to raise enough money to purchase medicine kits that are 20 kilos each and can treat up to 300 people.

A retired doctor from the area and her husband are working on an intiative to raise money to purchase medical supplie s and send them over to the Ukraine through a Humanitarian effort entitled the Medical Mercy Canada Society.

Dr. Donna Taylor is a retired Family Physician and her husband, David Kohut, who is a third generation Ukranian have teamed with the charity in efforts of sending needed medical supplies to the war raveged area.

The money raised will be used to buy pre-packaged medical supplies from Health Partners International. It’s a non-profit organization that pharmaceutical companies donate medications to that create easy to transport kits. Donna tells what each $600 kit contains.

“A lot of it is antibotics, asthma medication, ulcer medications, pain killers, that kind of thing. These kits are 20 kilos each and will treat about 300 people in each kit.”
