A former Goderich councillor has passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday.
A lifetime resident of the community James Donnelly served his first term on council in 1955.
He stepped away in 1959 to pursue a law career that saw him climb to the role of Justice of the Superior Court of Ontario. In 2010, he returned to municipal politics, serving council until his retirement earlier this year.
In his spare time, authored seven books, including a history of Huron County, his career in law and other family chronicles, the last book which was finalized the week he died.
