Grey and Bruce County students have taken part in the annual Geographic Information Systems GIS Day contest.

The contest took place with 306 grade 7 and 8 students across both counties to solve real life geographic problems using GIS technology.

GIS is a tool not only used in everyday life but also plays a role in decision making across government and business sectors.

Students were put in teams and mentored and judged by the organizing committee made up of GIS experts from Bruce County, Grey County, Bruce Power and the Town of Saugeen Shores.
