The Town of Goderich held its third and final Budget Meeting for 2023 on Monday.
It has been 3 months since the first budget review, and since then the Town has been looking to find additional savings & reduce expenditures.
The original draft budget anticipated that the tax increase would be 10%, but through successive revisions this has been reduced to 4.75%.
The Town says at this rate they will still be able to maintain current service levels, and add to the annual amount being put into their road construction and storm sewer reserves.
Council passed the budget in principle by unanimous vote and it will come back to Council for final approval in April.
The increase will mean an additional $10 per $100,000 in MPAC assessed value.
