A Goderich couple has lost $33,000 in a banking scam.

Huron County OPP say the couple got a call from someone claiming to be from their bank saying their account was compromised.

The scammers then went to the couples home where the couple turned in their credit and debit cards as well as personal banking information.

Later the couple found thousands of dollars had been taken from their accounts at which they contacted police.

OPP are reminding the public to never give out your banking info or ever turn over your cards as the banks will never ask of this.

Investigation remains ongoing.
