Fraud charges have been laid against a Goderich resident following a multi year and county wide investigation.
Huron County OPP started receiving fraud complaints in 2022 and 2023 involving the same individual who claimed to operate a construction, renovation and landscaping business.
The complaints came from across Huron County where money was deposited in advance for work to be completed but the suspect would either not work at all or do very little and cease communication.
A total loss from victims exceeded $74,000.
On February 4th police found and arrested the suspect with the 30 year old man charged with five counts of fraud under $5000 and 6 counts of fraud over $5000.
The accused will appear in court next month.
