The Town of Goderich received a report at its most recent council meeting from engineering firm BM Ross on Allocation of Water and Wastewater capacity for the town.

It comes after a previous report back in May of 2021 and January of 2022 were issued due to escalating rates of development proposals being received at the time.

Money was allocated in the 2023 budget to begin the planning process for water treatment plant expansion.

Another element putting pressure on future water usage and wastewater capacity is the boundary adjustment agreement with Central Huron.

It instructs Goderich to provide capacity for water & wastewater connections for lands as far south as Kitchigami Road.

Senior Engineer at BM Ross Bruce Potter explained that its unlikely all currently proposed building projects will actually be built but advised it was better to move sooner than later to handle the development in the future.

The full details of the report from BM Ross is available below.
