The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation is set for the launch of the new Gran Fondo Kids Ride on Saturday, August 19th.
The event is a 1 km closed road course beginning and ending at the Plex parking lot in Port Elgin where kids from 3 to 13 years of age can safely ride.
With each registration the child will receive a backpack they can use to collect various takeaways from each of the 6 or 7 activity stops along the route.
Afterwards there will be a BBQ lunch courtesy of the Port Elgin Lion’s Club and Lakeshore Recreation.
Prizes will also be drawn for those who choose to fundraise for their ride as well.
Parents are welcome to ride or walk along with their child. Online registration is now open.
The cost to participate is $25. Registration closes August 6th.
The Full Gran Fondo Lake Huron is Sunday, August 20th.
