The Grey Bruce Elder Abuse Prevention Network and Community Connection in Collingwood are partnering together to create an elder abuse response system in Bruce and Grey Counties.
The network is a group of organizations who are devoted to increasing the community’s capacity to respond to elder abuse.
Seniors are the fastest growing group in Grey-Bruce. Between 2016-2021 the number of people aged 65 and older in Grey-Bruce grew by 19 per cent.
National research found 10 per cent of seniors are abused in Canada which would equal to around 4500 seniors in Grey and Bruce County’s.
