The Grey Bruce Farmers Week have awarded their 2023 Grey Bruce Farmers Week Award to Seaforth-native Hanna Jansen.
The award is given each year to a veterinarian graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College who will practice large animal medicine in Grey & Bruce Counties.
Hanna hails from just outside Seaforth, where she grew up on a swine & cash crop farm and is very familiar with various types of animals.
She did her undergraduate studies in Nursing Sciences and graduated as an RN where she worked in medicine for 3 years.
Her pull towards farming & a love for animals led her to get into veterinary medicine.
She is working at Southwest Vets as a Swine Veterinarian as well as being an on-call vet 1 day a week at Blyth Veterinary Services.
