The Grey Bruce Health Unit advised residents that due to the significant increase in Covid-19 cases in the Region, the Unit is utilizing an automated text message system and provincial online virtual assessment tool to follow up with people who test positive and have listed a mobile contact number.
People who test positive but don’t list a mobile number will be called directly by Public Health.
Anyone who receives a positive result via a text should not wait for a call from Public Health and should self-isolate immediately. Those people are asked to directly notify their close contacts and will be given information to share with them.
The need to isolate does not change regardless of whether you are vaccinated or not.
